Computers: The New, Cool Way to watch TV

Proximity to present the new strategies and ways to watch television...or do I mean computers...?

Towson, MD - April 25, 2010 - Proximity, the leading consulting firm for companies wishing to connect to Gen-Y, announced yesterday that Jarret Lerner, Top Researcher for Proximity's video team, will be presenting the topic, "Internet TV", on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Burkshire Marriott Conference Hotel In Towson. He will be discussing the reasons why television viewers will soon be making their way to the computer screens. Free television shows and movies are rapidly growing available on the internet and consumers are trying to find the website to use for it.

Times have changed and the new generation loves computers and the internet. People now use the internet to their advantage all with ease. The following are facts from a focus group session taken at Towson University in 2010 which help prove this with the results.

  • Four of the five participants agreed that they watch more movies at home than at the theaters. They said they would want to wait until the movie comes out on DVD because they would rather pay money once to see the movie and would also rather watch at their house.
  • All five of the participants said they would rather rent a DVD than buy one. They like going to pick out a couple of DVD's for a week and then returning them, and doing the same thing over again whenever they want.
  • The five participants all admitted to downloading video illegally. They do not feel bad about it at all; they do it on a weekly basis not even thinking about that it's illegal. It has come to a point where any show or movie someone could ever want to watch is on the internet. Why get dressed and leave your house to get a movie when you can just watch it at home in your pajamas?

"Modern peoples desires can all be fulfilled on the internet," says Jarret Lerner. "It's a win-win situation for kids in this day and age. They never seem to get off the computer screen anyway so why not put everything televisions can do onto the computer? It is the future of television and the future of people's everyday life. It is genius!
